5 Ways to Celebrate Mercy Works on National Nonprofit Day

August 17th marks National Nonprofit Day, a day set aside to celebrate the contributions of nonprofits to address social, environmental, and humanitarian challenges in our society. Nonprofits play a critical role in our communities, and Mercy Works is proud to join the league of organizations on the quest to enact positive change where it’s needed most.

Mercy Works is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that owns and operates the Clarence Jordan Vision Center. We truly believe that empowering youth and under-served individuals will improve our community and enable them to reach their highest potential. Our mission to create meaningful change is only made possible by your support. Here are a few ways you can celebrate Mercy Works on National Nonprofit Day:

1) Share Mercy Works on Social Media

One of the best ways to share our mission is through word of mouth. Please spread the word and tell all your friends about us on social media.

2) Volunteer Your Time

You have something special to give our students. Dedicate your time and skills to support one of our many STEAM and personal development programs. You don’t need a STEAM background to participate, only a desire to pour support into tomorrow’s leaders.

3) Give Online

Giving online is fast, secure, and easy. Click here to make a one-time one-time donation or set up monthly giving to support a specific program or all of our programs.

4) Through the United Way

If your employer participates in the United Way campaign, go to your Human Resources Department and fill out a form for the donor program, designating MercyWorks, Inc. as the recipient.

5) Estate Planning

You can’t choose the legacy you receive. But you can choose the legacy you leave. We accept legacy gifts that include contributions from retirement plans, life insurance, real estate, securities, or bequests.

Learn more about Mercy Works’ giving opportunities by visiting www.vcsyracuse.com/donate or contact Joelle Harleston, Director of Development and Community Relations at (315) 371-5330 or jharleston@mercy-works.org.

By contributing your time, resources, and support, you play an integral role in empowering the youth in our community. Your contribution, regardless of size, will be used to deliver the highest possible quality of service to our young people and their families. Your support will help to inspire vision, create opportunity, and cultivate purpose to transform lives. Together, we can build a brighter future for all!
