3 Benefits of Becoming a 2023 Mercy Works Golfless Tournament Sponsor
Mercy Works’ Golfless Tournament is our primary fundraising effort for Synergy, a 10-week leadership development and paid internship program for 50+ college students from the Syracuse area. Each year, we gather sponsors to help these students cultivate strong professional skills and build an exceptional work ethic. With many of our participants being first generation college students, Synergy equips and empowers them to succeed in their college careers.
Meet one of our past Synergy students: Zahara Almaliki, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry Class of 2024 and Biotechnology Major. For her Synergy internship, Zahara was placed at ACCESS Dental Laboratories where she gained practical knowledge and experience in dentistry. She plans to go to dental school to earn her doctoral degree in dental surgery.
Zahara said, "The most impactful thing I have learned during my experience at Synergy is how to build professional networks with people within your community. I grew most professionally. During Fridays, we had the opportunity to learn and listen from all different types of business managers and owners, leaders, mayors, and professional people. Hearing different success stories and how people built their way up from scratch (even when coming from a disadvantaged background) was the most inspirational thing in this program. I strive to be like that one day when I can give talks to the younger ones on how they can achieve success after I have made it."
Seeing the direct impact Synergy has on our students makes our Golfless Tournament that much more important to be able to continue to provide this program to future students. Among the many marketing strategies that a business can use to promote its products and services, sponsorship has the potential for huge payoffs (Manns, 2017). Here are a few benefits to your business becoming a sponsor:
1) Becoming a sponsor reaches a wider demographic
Your business name and logo are included on all sponsorship promotional materials which are shared with a newer, wider audience than your own, increasing brand recognition throughout the community (Henderson, 2023).
2) Becoming a sponsor increases brand awareness.
With increased visibility of your brand name, you can generate preference in the mind of the consumer and increase customer loyalty (Manns, 2017).
3) Becoming a sponsor promotes a positive brand.
When your business donates to a worthy local cause, your image is often enhanced in the public’s perception. Many consumers will go out of their way to support businesses that support their community (Haskins, 2023).
Every sponsorship, big or small, makes an impact in equipping our young leaders with the knowledge, skills, and character development necessary to grow and effect change.
